Supportive Transitional and Emergency Housing.

For twenty-five years, Reverend Bob Hughes has devoted his life and career to providing shelter, safety, food and a place to call home for those who otherwise would be alone, unsafe, hungry and lonely. Rev. Hughes is a LADC1 and specializes in addiction counseling. With a BS degree from Boston University, and many hours at Harvard Divinity, he continues to pursue an education to benefit the neediest of society. Thirteen years ago, on April 1, 2007, Bob and his wife Katherine opened here in New Bedford. The House of Hope strives to help people every single day… 24/7.

While the world struggles with the current pandemic, the House of Hope continues to shelter and furnish safe transitional housing for those in need. Quarantine areas for those untested and appointments to Covid 19 testing are furnished. Our goal is to continue our mission even in these trying times. We are grateful for the generous food, clothing and monetary donations we have received from the community during these challenging times for all. We have tried to make life as “normal” as possible for our clients with activities such as bingo, karaoke and barbecues.
